Rowing is a particularly balanced form of training which exercises all the main muscle groups and increases personal stamina and endurance. In addition, rowing stimulates the matabolism and raises the oxygen content of the body. The many benefits for both strength and general fitness combined with the natural sequence of movements make rowing one of the most effective types of exercise. The KETTLER® KADETT is fitted with rowing arms, hydraulic resitance system, and a special outrigger design which is now featured on many boats. Fitted with easily understandable display electronics which give the user information on important data such as number and speed of strokes and the pulse rate during exercise.

Rowing Exercises - Ways to Train For Rowing

!±8± Rowing Exercises - Ways to Train For Rowing

Regattas are a tough thing to deal with if you're not properly prepared. You will get easily worn out by the half way point, or maybe even exhausted immediately after the start. In order to win a regatta, you must formulate a plan of action, and you must train properly and be dedicated. The training process can be grueling, but it's well worth it in the end when you have won. There are three great things to remember when training for a regatta, and if you follow these steps, you will do very well in each and every race.

Run hills. If you run hills then you will strengthen your explosive muscle, which is extremely important for the start of the race. This will also increase your sprinting stamina, which is also a huge factor in the start of the race. Hills are one of the hardest workouts you can do, but if you do not do them correctly, you will not benefit from them. You must sprint up the hill as fast as you can, and slowly walk down. You should do at least ten hill sprint a day up a steep hill to build up your endurance before the race.

Practice your sprints. Your sprints are very important in the race. You will be sprinting for about half of the race if you are properly trained (first 500 meters and last 500 meters). If you do not practice your sprints, however, you can easily lose the race when you bring up the pace. Work on slide control and try not to slam yourself forward, as this will cause the boat to stop in the water, and make it harder for you to go faster. If you perfect your sprints you can gain a huge advantage over opposing teams.

Do thirty minute erg pieces every day. Yes, this is annoying and uncomfortable, but this is the best place to get stronger and instantly see results. If you row on the erg for thirty minutes a day you will see a huge improvement over your energy levels during the race, and will most likely be a lot quicker. This will also help you improve your technique and see where you are trying too hard.

Follow these three basic principles when training for a regatta and you will be fully covered. Remember, the workout is only as hard as you make it, so push yourself every day.

Rowing Machines Versus Rowboats For Fitness

!±8± Rowing Machines Versus Rowboats For Fitness

At this point, it's essentially uncontested that rowing is one of the best exercises you can do if you want to give your whole body a workout. But there is still a debate raging over rowing for some: whether it's better to use a modern rowing machine, or an actual rowboat. The truth is that, like most things, they each have their uses. Whether one is better than the other simply depends on your situation. But if you're not doing either, then chances are you're neglecting your body of the workout it deserves to stay fit without risk or strain. Finding the proper way to row is, for you, something that takes place while finding out what matters to you in a rowing experience. Rowboats will offer one kind of experience, and rowing machines another, even if they both perform the same basic exercise.

A rowboat has both the benefits and the disadvantages of being outdoors. Crisp air, a relaxing yet interesting environment, the sound of birds and maybe even waves lapping on a shore. If you need to work on your tan, get some fresh air, or just plain get out of the house for a while, rowing with a rowboat can be a terrific way to do it. It helps you enjoy the outdoors and get back to nature while getting your body fit as a fiddle. Many people find that the stimulation provided by an outdoor setting allows them to work harder and enjoy their exercise more, and the motivation this can give you to help you get a great workout shouldn't be underestimated.

However, in many ways a rowing machine does a better job of emphasizing the strengths of rowing as a pure exercise. If you don't need the motivation provided by the great outdoors, an inside environment is more practical. Weather, temperature, and humidity are taken out of the way as a factor. Unlike a rowboat, a rowing machine has more built into it to allow you to customize and keep track of your exercise routine more specifically and personally. You can adjust the resistance, keep count of the number of row strokes you make, and do all sorts of other things to personalize your rowing experience. This lets you use rowing as pure exercise rather than as a combination of exercise and outdoors experience. If the outdoors isn't your thing, then a rowing machine will allow you to get the most impact for your time investment.

Know yourself, and you'll be able to learn easily what kind of rowing experience you want. You can get strong arms, strong legs, a toned and balanced body and new inner reserves of energy with either a rowboat or a machine, but you need to know which one is better for your personal wants. It's really not that hard to figure out, once you realize what each one offers.

Rowing Machines For Sale - Keen to Get Super Fit?

!±8± Rowing Machines For Sale - Keen to Get Super Fit?

Do you want to get super fit and toned? Then you have to check out rowing machines for sale online to browse through the popular and in demand models and get one. If any person wants an exercise machine for home and wants a full body work out, then the fitness rowing machine is what you should take a good, hard look at.

Being an ex rower I know what it means to train in the gym and believe me, I used those concept 2 rowing machines day in and day out. As hard as the workout was, and as exhausted as I felt after each session, I noticed how quickly my body got into shape. Being a regular gym user, and having used all the fitness equipment, I can honestly say that the ergometer is one of the most challenging and physically demanding pieces of equipment.

But this article is less about getting into shape and more about the actual rowing machine. Rowing machines are sometimes called Ergometer's or Elliptical Machines and a lot of times you will hear the term Concept 2 Rower. The concept ii rower is just one of the models and the most commonly used at the gym.

There are 2 main types of rower fitness equipment. Both have seats that glide up and down a steel track but one of them has a fixed handle bar which you pull on in order to get the upper body workout and the other is simply a handle attached to a nylon thread which runs through a fly wheel. So what is the actual difference in use between the two?

The first one with the metal handle bars means that your arm and hand height are fixed according to the movement of the bars. It is not a natural rowing action. The second type of fitness rower lets you choose the level of your hands and arms. Generally speaking as you slide up the bar, the nylon thread should always stay parallel to the ground and not move in a semi circular movement. (You might think otherwise after watching a couple of people at the gym - usually their actions are a tad messed up!)

The type 2 machines are a bit more expensive than the type one erg machines. But in terms of quality, comfort and fitness, the rowing machine that uses a flywheel is the best. This is why most gyms, high schools and rowing institutes have the concept 2 rower. It's the best way to train rowers off the water.

Indoor Rowing - How to Lose Weight

!±8± Indoor Rowing - How to Lose Weight

An ERG machine or a concept 2 indoor rowing machine is a perfect rowing machine for those who are keen to lose weight but are not really interested in joining a gym. Not everyone has the money available for gym membership these days, so having a rowing machine at home is a great solution.

Any weight loss will not come easy unless you show some determination and watch what you eat. It would be pointless to row 5000 metres and then find that you have a hunger pang and need to fill it with a large Kentucky or a pizza. Before you start to train, consider a good quality meal that you could make for later that contains very little junk. Any form of pasta meal would be ideal, or a rice meal.

If you have managed to purchase a rowing machine and have set it up correctly you will now be ready to use it. By setting it up for your frame you should feel comfortable when you use it. If you are thinking of doing more than 20 minutes at any time on your machine make, sure you have a drink close by.

By putting together a weekly training package you will be able to monitor what training you are doing and keep a solid record of your work. This will enable you to check your progress on a weekly basis, and see how you are improving.

When first starting out, start slowly. Do not do too much when you first begin. By beginning slowly you will allow your body clock time to adjust to this new feature. Watch the monitor and check how you are rowing and what the machine actually shows as your row rate per 500 metres. An average row is around 500 metres in 2 minutes. If you are overweight or just starting out you will be lucky to match this.

For beginners who are trying to lose weight, I would start at around 2.30 mns for 500 metres. This should be a nice steady pace that you can keep going for a good 20 minutes.

If you are looking to buy a rowing machine I would strongly recommend the Concept 2 Rower. It is by far the best on the market. It can be bought online from Amazon. It is slightly more expensive than one bought from a large supermarket or a catalogue, but the benefits are huge. You would also get a good amount of your cash back at a later date if you decide to sell it, unlike the catalogue ones which end up at the back of your garage as no one wants them second hand.
